The Prix Galien Awards ceremony, one of the most esteemed institutions for the global pharmaceutical industry, was successfully held on the evening of Thursday, April 24, 2025.

The Prix Galien Awards acknowledge and reward outstanding pharmaceutical achievements that contribute to improving quality of life through the development of innovative formulations and diagnostic tools.

LactoLevure®, a research and development product of UNI-PHARMA, received the Prix Galien Award in the Nutraceuticals category.

A cutting-edge formulation, LactoLevure® is based on a combination of four different probiotic strains, offering effective and safe action. It is a breakthrough supplement that not only protects and restores the intestinal microbiota but also distinguishes itself from other probiotics on the market by innovating in two key areas:

  • It is the first probiotic blend launched in Greece, with strains that have been scientifically proven to contribute not only to prevention but also to the treatment of medical conditions, such as the eradication of Helicobacter pylori and the management of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
  • It is the only probiotic in Greece included in official scientific guidelines, both national and international, for the management of specific medical conditions. Its effectiveness is supported by numerous clinical studies.

The award was received by Spyros Kintzios, Director of Corporate Development Tsetis Pharmaceutical Group, from Kyriakos Souliotis, Professor of Health Policy at the University of the Peloponnese.

The Prix Galien Awards – established in France in 1970 by pharmacist Roland Mehl, in honor of Galen, one of the most important physicians of antiquity- today are held in 15 countries. They represent a collective effort by distinguished scientists from around the world to showcase the “best of the best” pharmaceutical innovations, encouraging scientific progress and recognizing the most significant breakthroughs in pharmaceutical research, biotechnology, medical technology, and public health.
