For her multifaceted contribution to the pharmaceutical industry, Julia Tsetis, President and CEO of the Tsetis Group, was honored at the Macedonian Pharmacy Conference, which took place in Kilkis on the weekend of May 24–25, 2025.

With a focus on scientific progress, innovation, and the pharmacist’s role in modern healthcare, the central theme of the conference was: “The Pharmacy Today: Prospects and Challenges.”

During the opening ceremony, Mr. Konstantinos Katsianos, President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Kilkis, and Mr. Apostolos Valtas, President of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association, presented the honorary distinction to Julia Tsetis.

As they emphasized, this recognition follows her recent designation as “Woman of the Year 2024” during the CPHI 2024 exhibition in Milan — the largest international event in the pharmaceutical industry. The CPHI judging panel awarded Julia Tsetis, pharmacist MSc and honorary PhD holder from the School of Pharmacy of the NKUA and the University of Patras, for her dedication to innovation, sustainable development, and social responsibility, recognizing her as a visionary and pioneer in the pharmaceutical field, with a significant footprint in the global pharmaceutical industry.

As Apostolos Valtas pointed out, the Tsetis Group supports the sector through significant production and job creation in Greece, while also representing the industry dynamically in the global market—with its companies now exporting to 75 countries.

In her remarks, Julia Tsetis warmly thanked the pharmaceutical community for the award and noted, among other things:

“This distinction represents an additional responsibility for me. A responsibility not only for the future of our Group and our employees, but also for the path of the pharmaceutical industry, research, and the next generation. The pharmaceutical sector is a vital pillar of the Greek economy and a bastion of our society, having proven its resilience. I am proud to work in the field of life sciences, which contribute greatly to public health, research, the competitiveness of the economy, and the social fabric. Furthermore, the health sciences and research fields have, in recent years, been increasingly attracting women—a fact we must celebrate and support. Support with fair and inclusive policies, enabling modern women to work and create unhindered, while also contributing to their families and to society as a whole”.
