A scientific event presenting the research supported to date through grants and scholarships—with an emphasis on studies aimed at improving cardiovascular health—was organized by the KLEON TSETIS Foundation on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Distinguished Professors of Cardiology, members of the Hellenic Cardiological Society, and cardiologists from Attica and the regions attended the event, underscoring both its scientific significance and the broad interest of the medical community in the Foundation’s research initiatives.

The KLEON TSETIS Foundation systematically supports young scientists in the Health sector, having awarded 47 scholarships to date, thereby reinforcing the essential connection between university research and the pharmaceutical industry. Its goal is to create incentives for young scientists to remain and build their careers in Greece, contributing to innovative research that enhances the competitiveness of the Greek and European pharmaceutical industry internationally.

In 2025 alone, the Foundation awarded 12 new scholarships following a call for proposals and evaluation process, distributed across universities in Athens and the regions (NKUA, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Patras, University of Ioannina, Democritus University of Thrace, BRFAA).

During the event, research programs supported by the KLEON TSETIS AMKE were presented.

It is noteworthy that since UNI-PHARMA launched SALOSPIR in the Greek market in 1977, a multifaceted and continuously expanding cardiology portfolio has been developed, supported by ongoing research and development in the field.

As part of its planned initiatives for 2026, the President and CEO of the Tsetis Group, Julia Tsetis, announced a call for the award of three scholarships of €10,000 each, aimed at supporting the research work of one Academic Fellow in each University Cardiology Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The event was also honored by the presence of the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister’s pharmaceutical policy advisor, Babis Karathanos, the Rector of NKUA and Professor of Cardiology, Gerasimos Siasos and the President of the Hellenic Cardiological Society and Professor of Cardiology, Konstantinos Toutouzas -highlighting the importance of collaboration between the State, academia, and the private sector in shaping an ecosystem that fosters research, innovation, and the improvement of public health.
